How to install My Dock Buddies on your Mac

Installing My Dock Buddies takes a few minutes: get a plan and your buddies on the website, download the app from your library, drag it into Applications, then agree to the terms and sign in with an emailed code. Here is every step, with what you will see on screen.
What do I need first?
A Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel, and an email address you can open. The download is for members with an active Monthly, Annual or Lifetime plan. On every plan, you add each buddy you want for $49.50 until 13 October 2026, then $99.
How do I install it, step by step?
- On the website, sign in with your email. We send you a 6-digit code; there is no password.
- Choose a plan and your buddies, and pay on the secure checkout. Your buddies appear in your library as soon as the payment goes through, usually within seconds.
- In your library, or on the download page, choose Download. Signed out, you are asked to sign in first; without an active plan, you are sent to the plans.
- Open the downloaded disk image (the DMG file) from your Downloads folder. Its window shows the app and a shortcut to your Applications folder.
- Drag My Dock Buddies onto Applications, then eject the disk image.
- Open My Dock Buddies from Applications. The first time, macOS asks whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet: choose Open. The app is notarized by Apple.
- A small icon with two eyes appears in your menu bar; the app has no Dock icon of its own. The sign-in window opens on the terms: read the four-line summary or the full terms, tick “I agree to the terms of use” and choose Continue.
- Enter the email you use on the website and choose “Email me a code”. Type the 6-digit code from the email, which works for 10 minutes, and choose Sign in.
- Your buddies download to your Mac. The window says they are on their way while they download.
- A three-step welcome follows: say hi to your buddies, pick who goes on the Dock (up to two at a time), and choose whether the app opens at login and installs updates automatically. Both are on to start with. Choose Start, and your buddies step onto your Dock.
What if I opened it straight from the disk image?
The app asks “Move My Dock Buddies to Applications?”. Choose “Move to Applications”: it copies itself there and opens the copy. Keeping it in Applications is what lets your buddies open at login and get updates.
What if no buddies appear?
Only the buddies your account has paid for download; nothing comes bundled in the app. Check that you signed in with the email you use on the website: the menu-bar menu shows “Signed in as” with your email. Bought a buddy a moment ago? Choose “Refresh purchases” in the same menu. If the terms have changed since you last agreed, the app asks you to agree again before your buddies show.
What if it says my account is active on another Mac?
One account works on one Mac at a time. The app names the other Mac and asks you to sign out there first. If you no longer have that Mac, contact us from the help page and we free your account for this one.
What next?
Your buddies now live on your Dock. What a click does, the right-click menu, sizes and roaming are all in the everyday guide.
