What we collect
Your email address, when you sign in. Your plan, chosen characters, orders and whether each payment went through, so we can show your library and unlock your buddies. Custom-buddy requests and the reference photos you send with them. Messages you send through the contact form. If you buy the buddies a coffee, the amount and, if you were signed in, your email. When you sign in to the Mac app, that Mac’s name, an identifier for it, when it was signed in, when it last checked in and a one-way hash of the key that links it to your account, so your account works on one Mac at a time.
What we do not collect
We never see your card details: our payment partner takes the payment on its own secure checkout page. The website has no advertising, no tracking and no marketing cookies, and we never sell or share your information for advertising.
Signing in
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email (the Mac app uses the same code), so there is no password to remember or lose. We keep you signed in for up to 14 days on this device, or until you sign out. No advertising or tracking. Your cart stays on this device until you check out or clear it.
Who helps us
A trusted hosting company keeps the website and your account safe. Our payment partner handles every purchase and coffee: it takes the payment, adds any tax, sends your receipt and sees your email and what you bought. It never sees your reference photos or custom request. Both follow their own privacy and security promises.
Reference photos for custom buddies
Your photos are kept private. Only our team can see them, and we use them only to make the buddy you asked for. We never use them to train anything, never show them publicly and never use them in promotion. We delete your reference photos 30 days after we deliver your buddy, or sooner if you ask. If a request is declined, cancelled or refunded, we delete its photos within 30 days.
Private custom characters
Each custom request belongs to the account that sent it. Only that account can follow its progress, see the finished buddy and unlock it. Custom buddies are never listed in the store or used in marketing unless you separately say yes.
How long we keep things
Reference photos and previews: 30 days after we deliver your buddy, or within 30 days of a request being declined, cancelled or refunded. Your account, orders, characters and custom requests: while your account exists, plus any time the law requires for tax records. Contact messages: as long as we need to answer and follow up. Our payment partner keeps its own payment records under its own policy.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time; signing out of the Mac app removes your buddies and account data from that Mac. To see, correct or delete your information, or to close your account, send a request through the contact page from the email you sign in with. We will check it is really you and then take care of it. Anyone can ask us to remove a character made from their likeness; see the Likeness & takedowns page.
