The short answer

Which buddies can I get today?

Max and Avery can be chosen today: each is a one-time $4.99 unlock ($4.99 / ₹479). Juno is coming next, with Aadi following him; both are coming soon, and a locked buddy can’t be added to a cart. What you choose is saved to your account and downloads into the Mac app when you sign in.

Every buddy is bought separately: $4.99 once ($4.99 / ₹479), yours to keep. There is no subscription, and the buddies you own keep working. Aadi and Juno are coming soon and cannot be purchased while locked.
