Your account
You sign in with your email address, so keep access to that inbox. Purchases, characters and custom buddies belong to the account that bought them. You must be an adult, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to buy.
Plans and character access
Monthly is $5.99 per month, with characters purchased separately. Annual is $69 per year, with characters purchased separately. Lifetime is a single $200 payment for a membership that never renews and never expires, with characters purchased separately, like Monthly. A plan gives you access while it is active. Prices are in US dollars, and any tax is shown at checkout.
Paying
Our payment partner handles the payment and sends your receipt. It takes your payment, adds any tax, and its own checkout terms also apply. Your characters unlock as soon as the payment is confirmed.
New activities
We add new activities to the characters regularly, and we ask members for ideas. Members get every new activity for their characters as part of their plan, at no extra cost.
Renewal and cancellation
Monthly and Annual renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can turn renewal off, and back on, at any time in your library. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the time you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Lifetime never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
Switching to Lifetime
If you switch from Monthly or Annual to Lifetime, the old plan’s renewal is turned off once Lifetime is paid; time left on it is not refunded.
Character purchases
Until 13 October 2026, paid characters are $49.50 one-time unlocks (the founding launch price): on every plan, that applies to your first and every later available character. A character purchase does not add another recurring charge. Characters work while your plan is active, pause if it ends, and return if you reactivate it.
The standard character price
After 13 October 2026, the standard character price is $99, which also applies to characters released after the launch crew. The standard price is a future price, not a price previously charged, and we will show the price that applies before checkout.
Character and app availability
Max and Avery are the launch crew. Juno is planned next, and Aadi follows him. A locked preview cannot be added to a cart or purchased. Release order is a plan rather than a promised date. Your available characters are saved to your account, and the Mac app that brings them to your desktop is available to signed-in members with an active plan, from your library.
Custom buddies
Custom buddy requests are available with active Annual and Lifetime plans only. Each account can have one open request at a time, and send at most one request a day. We may turn down a request that breaks our likeness rules.
Custom buddy pricing
Custom buddies are priced one by one: you send a short description and reference photos, and we set a price, shown in your library, before you pay. The full price is paid up front and work starts only after payment.
Custom buddy delivery and changes
We aim to deliver within 72 hours of payment; if we need more time, we tell you and ask for it. Small tweaks after the first look are free; bigger changes such as colors, costumes, outfits or new accessories are priced separately.
What a custom buddy is
A custom buddy is a stylized 3D character, not an exact match of anyone’s face. We do our best with your costumes, gadgets and accessories; if something isn’t feasible we may use one of our own designs.
Who a custom buddy can show
You may ask for yourself or another adult who has agreed to it, and you must have permission to share every photo. We do not accept children, strangers in the background, ID documents or intimate images.
Public figures
A buddy inspired by a celebrity, founder or other public figure can be made only as a one-off for your own personal use: it is delivered privately, never listed in the store, and must not be resold or presented as endorsed. Named characters of real people in the store need that person’s written agreement.
Personal use only
Every character, including a custom one, is for the account that bought it, for personal, non-commercial use on your own devices. Please do not resell, share or post the character files, or present a character inspired by a real person as endorsed by them.
Our designs and reuse
My Dock Buddies owns its character style, base designs, animations, props and ways of working, and may reuse them across custom buddies. Two people who ask for similar characters, including characters inspired by the same public figure, may get buddies built from the same base design, each personalized and delivered privately. Your own photos and personal details are never reused for anyone else.
Buying the buddies a coffee
A coffee is an optional gift toward new characters and activities. It is not a charity donation, a character purchase, a subscription or a deposit for custom work, and it does not change access, prices or delivery order.
Fair use
Do not try to get into another person’s account, share your membership, or use custom buddies to impersonate, harass or trick anyone. We may suspend an account that does. Nothing in these terms takes away consumer rights the law gives you.
