Plugging in the charger is a small, satisfying moment, and it is the one thing on this list you can make happen on purpose. Plug your Mac in and a buddy plugs a cable in too, then spends the next 45 seconds celebrating, dancing, tidying cables or high-fiving.
What exactly happens?
The moment power goes from battery to the charger, the buddies get a 45-second window. Plugging the cable in is the most likely thing they do, and the rest of the window can bring a celebration, a dance, a high five, a jump, a round of cable organizing, or the Fix-it story.
It wins over everything else
The charger sits at the top of the order, above a working AI agent and above a quiet stretch at the keyboard. That is deliberate: it is rare, it is short, and it is the one signal you caused on purpose, so it would be a shame to miss it because something else was already going on.
Two buddies, two reactions
Each buddy picks for itself, so you will often see one plug a cable in while the other celebrates, then the two swap a moment later. They are reacting to the same thing, not playing the same animation in lockstep.
What it reads
Only whether your Mac is drawing power from the charger, and the battery level. Nothing is sent anywhere, and nothing is written down.
