A racing desktop buddy for your Mac: meet Racer
Most desktop pets are cats, blobs or pixel creatures. Racer is a person: a small, rigged 3D racing driver who stands on the top edge of your Mac Dock and lives his day there. He jogs from one end to the other, stops to stretch like it is the grid before a start, and throws both fists up when you give him something to celebrate. If you like motorsport, or just want something with a bit of pace in the corner of your screen, this is him.
What he looks like
A white racing suit with red and yellow stripes down the arms and legs, a high red collar, red-and-white racing boots, and a head of silver hair with a matching beard. The suit carries no team names or sponsor logos: he is our own character, drawn to read clearly even when he is only a couple of centimetres tall on a busy Dock.
What he does on your Dock
He walks and runs along the Dock, and in between he picks from 37 activities: a coffee break, a stretch, a jump, a wave, working at a small desk, reading, even a nap. Right-click him to choose one yourself, or to send him running left or right. Left alone, he strings them into little stories on his own.
See him move
His page has a real recording from a Mac: Racer on an ordinary Dock, walking, waving, and the right-click menu picking what he does next. It is not a mockup and nothing is sped up.
Small, medium, large or extra large
Right-click him and choose Size to make him bigger or smaller right there, or set it in Settings. Medium suits most Docks; extra large makes him easy to see on a big external display. He stays standing on the Dock at every size, and moves to the bottom of the screen when the Dock hides itself.
Does he slow your Mac down?
No more than any other buddy. When he stands about he draws slowly, and when he is hidden or the screen is locked he stops drawing entirely. Everything he does happens on your Mac: nothing about what you are doing is sent anywhere.

Add him on his page for $4.99 / ₹479, once, and he joins your library straight away. Download the free Mac app, sign in with the same email, and he downloads onto your Mac and lines up on your Dock.
